In this weeks' Shooter Spotlight, we are featuring ELR competitor Pieter Eksteen. Pieter recently broke the record for longest shot in competition at 4,279yds on March 16 at the Send It 2 Mile Match in Matroosbergstasie, South Africa.

*Update: This past weekend on March 23, Josh Silby broke this record at 4,344yds (also using Cutting Edge Bullets).

Interview with Pieter:

How long have you been shooting Extreme Long Range?

5 Years

What drew you to Extreme Long Range competitive shooting?

The Challenge . And great friends having fun shooting together

What drew you to Cutting Edge Bullets and how did you hear about us?
Seeing the top 10 results in many ELR comps using 400gr CE Lazers convinced me

Have you shot other monolithic bullets before?  If so, what convinced you to change brands?
Yes……the CONSISTANCY (BC) in CE bullets

In your opinion, what is the biggest difference between monolithic bullets and lead core bullets that you’ve experienced while shooting?

Never shot lead core bullets…got a 7 twist barrel which is suited for monolithics. I know that the lead core bullets makes a much more visible splash on steelplates

What are your goals for the 2024 season?
Just to ENJOY shooting with my friends, having FUN and try to improve every time on my previous score

Tell us about your rifle and ammo:
- Victrix Tormentum, original 30” 10 twist barrel replaced by a 36” 7 twist Bartlein
Peterson Brass,
- 400gr CE Lazers @ 3030fps using VV 24N21 (OCW DAN NEWBERRY),
- Bix’n Andy trigger

All of us here at CEB would like to wish Pieter good luck this season! We can't wait to see what you do!
