.458 400gr 700NP Safari Solid - 50ct

sorry I tried to review but still learning how to, very computer dumb. I used this bullet 458 400gr .700 I call long nose to take the very first Cape Buffalo back in April. the first shot was with the 420 gr Raptor in the chest at about 40 yards and never found that bullet. then after following the dogs fighting the Buffalo we got to about 30 feet when it came out of the brush and charged me I put another round Safari Solid and the dogs turned it and then was able to get 2 more solids into it, the Buffalo died about 7 feet in front of me. to say the rush was unreal is an understatement I must say. there was only one recovered Safari Solid recovered and that one was the first shot on the charge and went into the chest and was found under the hide in the rump the penetration was fantastic and the picture you see on the site is that bullet. Dan has made the ultimate solid for the .458 and will be the bullets I take when I go on my Elephant hunt hopefully next year. good hunting

I used one of those on a water buffalo insurance shot in May 2025.
It traveled over 8 feet in the water buffalo,
through front and back hide of tail, through hide of left rump,
through left pelvic bones, across entire abdominal cavity full of rumens and grass cud,
through diaphragm and lungs above heart, transecting the great vessels above the heart,
exited chest into shoulder muscles and smashed a big hole through the middle of the right humerus,
the heaviest/thickest/strongest bone in the water buffalo,
coming to rest in muscle/meat at right shoulder/neck juncture.
If it had not hit that humerus it surely would have gone out the far side with about 9 feet of waterbuffalo
perforated on the diagonal of entire body.
That it was able to thoroughly bust a humerus after about 8 feet of travel in body was amazing.

.458 WIN MAG and 2500 fps MV, striking water buffalo at 25 yards.
It will be rare to recover these bullets on most shots,
except for maybe on Blue Whale.
