This Flat Base Raptor™ was designed specifically for the 450 Bushmaster. Instead of mushrooming, these hollow points are designed so that after 1-2" of penetration, 6 blades break off and radiate outward in a start pattern while the base continues on for even deeper penetration.
A minimum impact velocity of 1500fps is required for the hollow point to function as intended.
The minimum required twist rate for this bullet is 1:28". These bullets are not recommended for use in rifles with a twist faster than 1-6".

Great Bullet in my 14 inch performance center revolver over a pile of ramshot enforcer, loaded long in the cylinder with a medium crimp, hitting 2400 without pressure signs and groups around 3 inches at 100 scoped. Kills Iowa deer dead. I like that cutting edge will always send me some good places to start my loads.

These 160 grain bullets brought my 450 BM into a new category of firearm for me. They increased the accuracy and extended the hunting range significantly
I have this bullet going 2900 fps out of a bolt action 450BM. Deer drop in there tracks. Recoil is light for kids or people sensitive to recoil and accurate!
In the photo this buck was quartered away hard so I had to enter far back as he was leaving. Recovered base of bullet in opposite side shoulder. No meat was waisted.
