Customer - Elk
Idaho
Distance: 420yds
Cartridge: 338 Edge
Bullet: MTH 338 252 MAX
We do not condone hunting at distances you are not comfortable with. Shooters should always practice as much as possible before a hunt. But unfortuantely, even with adequate preparedness, bad shots still happen.
This is a prime example of how our bullets can still damage vitals and put game on the ground quickly in the unfortunate event that you have a bad shot. This elk was a gut shot, but our MTH split into 3 large pieces which radiated outward in different directions, inevitably causing the Elk to run only 50yds before collapsing.

Bullet: .308 165gr MAXIMUS™
Cartridge: 30-06
Petals found in off side shoulder and base passed through. Notice the star pattern from the petals in the off side ribcage. This is very typical of our Maximus™ line.

Bullet: .308 165gr Maximus™
You can see multiple holes on the exit side and a big entrance. A rib on the way in was hit again. There were a total of 5 exits as intended.
Dan S- Red Hartebeest
South Africa
Bullet: .308 165gr Maximus™
Distance: 310yds
Small entrance on his right side but large exit on his left. The petals stayed closer to the main wound channel on this animal shot at 310 yards. Also hit back a little far. It lived the longest of all animals on Dans South Africa hunt; approximately 15 seconds and covering 150 yards in open grassland.
Dan S- Eland
South Africa
Bullet: .308 165gr Maximus™
Made a bad shot first hitting him above the spine but putting him down. Put another round through his chest cavity and he lived 15 seconds. Large exit hole in the ribcage. Petals found buried in the off side shoulder.
Dan S- Wildebeest
South Africa
Bullet: .308 165gr Maximus™
Shot was slightly quartering toward shooter. Hit right in the point of his shoulder completely destroying it and a very large entrance into the chest cavity. The bullet base was perfectly intact and found on his right side behind the skin just in front of the hind quarter. Probably at least 3' of penetration after a direct shoulder hit.
Dan S- Warthog
South Africa
Bullet: .308 165gr Maximus™
Shot was higher than desired, but animal went straight down. Lungs were damaged on top due to petals breaking off after entering. A perfect example of how our bullets can be effective in the off chance you dont have a perfect shot.
Dan S- Impala
South Africa
Bullet: ER 308 150
Impala went 25 yards in 5 seconds or less and piled up. Notice the massive exit hole.
