The 9th Annual King of 2 Miles competition is in the books and there was some history made!
Richie Young, along with his spotter (KO2M 2023 King!) Josh Silby, won the title of King with 2 impacts on each target in the finals. Josh Silby, with Richie as his spotter, took 2nd place, the first time a team has taken the top 2 spots!
Haley Hull, along with her spotter Naomi Congdon, the first female only team to hit KO2M landed in 3rd place! All shooters were using our Lazer bullets as part of their equipment and we couldn't be more honored!
In fact, of the top 15 shooters who made the finals, 14 of them were using CEB Lazers!
Congratulations all shooters and finalists. The field is getting more and more competitive each year with impacts moving further out!
📢FUN FACT - The morning of Finals shooters participated in the King's Challenge which is 5 shots at a 1.5 x 2 MOA target at 4,259 yards. 6 shooters connected and all 6 were using our .416Cal 550gr Lazers. These guys deserve recognition as this is a huge accomplishment! Congratulations (left to right in Photo) Brian Wink, Roper Gunter, Jason Greenlee, Shane Smith, Jeff Medlin and Mike Collins!

How long have you been shooting Extreme Long Range?
2.5 Years

What drew you to Extreme Long Range competitive shooting?
I went to a match at Moccasin Valley Precision with a 7-300 NMI and found out really quick that I did not know very much about shooting REALLY far. But I was one of two guys to hit a 2285-yard target. I was hooked.

What drew you to Cutting Edge Bullets and how did you hear about us?
After building the first few ELR rifles, I tested a few different bullets and had some that would flat out disappear and were completely unpredictable and inconsistent. Few of the other competitors (DWAYNE RUSSELL!!!) mentioned that to stay on top, I needed to use CEB Lazers.

Have you shot other monolithic bullets before? If so, what convinced you to change brands?
Yes. Early on, there were consistency issues with other brands. Have never looked back.

In your opinion, what is the biggest difference between monolithic bullets and lead core bullets that you’ve experienced while shooting?
Knowing that the bullet will do exactly what it needs to do down range. Transition from Super, Trans, and Sub-Sonic are very important, and I feel the only bullet to do it consistently (perfectly) is the CEB Lazer.

What are your goals for the 2024 season?
Met them. Retiring. Just kidding……… I will shoot one more match in prep for Light Gun/ Ko1M next year. I had been tinkering with a new cartridge for over a year now but have been obsessed with heavy gun. Will spend the offseason working on a new cartridge for Heavy gun. Hopefully take Ko1M and Ko2M in 2025.
