This weeks Shooter Spotlight is on Curtis Roman, winner of the Spearpoint Ranch ELR April match. Curtis was shooting our 550gr LAZER out of his .416 Hellfire (more specs on his rifle at the bottom of this page).

Q: Match Name/Date/Location of your Win:
A: Spearpoint - April 27, 2024
Q: How long have you been shooting Extreme Long Range?
A: David Lindsay and I started this back in 2019 shooting over bean fields.
Q:What drew you to Extreme Long Range competitive shooting?
A: To be honest I had heard of it back in 2015 some time but never thought I would be able to do it. Dave asked me in late 2019 or early 2020 if I wanted to shoot a 1 mile match at Trippel C in Texas. We shot it and have been hooked since.
Q: What drew you to Cutting Edge Bullets and how did you hear about us?
A: Cutting edge bullets have been at the top of the win list since I started do this. When I built my first heavy gun (37xc) it was the only way to go as far as I seen it.
Q:Have you shot other monolithic bullets before? If so, what convinced you to change brands?
A: I have tested others but none have been as consistent and transition as well as the CE bullets.
Q: In your opinion, what is the biggest difference between monolithic bullets and lead core bullets that you’ve experienced while shooting?
A:I think they are more consistent in size and weight so you know pretty much what your getting into.
Q: What are your goals for the 2024 season?
A: Dave and I were talking about this on our trip to Spearpoint on Friday. We have been wanting to finish 1st and 2nd in a match for the last couple years and well we did it this match! So now the new goal is to donit again!!
