The 260gr .458 diameter Maximus can be used in .458 caliber rifles, especially the 458 SOCOM, .458 LOTT or .458 Winchester. This is a hollow point hunting bullet with an exceptional BC and incredible terminal performance.
After 2-3" of penetration, 4 blades break off and radiate outward in a star pattern while the base continues through for even deeper penetration.
This bullet was designed to have the BC of our MTH/MTAC line with the terminal performance of our Raptor™ series.

The bullets are great looking. I created a 1.8" straight wall in .458. I can't use the 45-70 in southern Michigan without cutting them down, which I've done, so I made my own legal cartridge. A Savage 110 Tactical was the donor and I got a nice stainless barrel from Douglas Barrels. I just wanted it to equal the power of the 45-70 and it did that with the first test loads yesterday. Your bullet crossed the chrony at 2,286 fps. I think 2,400 fps is doable with your bullet, and it looks like it'll be a deer and bear smasher! I will be testing them for accuracy soon. I will keep you posted.
This is a top performing Texas Pig bullet out of the 458 Socom . Speed expansion penetration it does it all .
Work great for 458 socom
I shoot competition and hunt never have seen the 2 work together at all ranges like this . The quality of these bullets are the best , Hunting is not 2000 rounds a day so go with the best when you spend a 5 yr trip of a lifetime on a hunt the bullet price doesn't matter on price only quality go with CEB .
