We have offered an extensive number of bullet lines to fill every need, but the one thing that was missing was a bullet designed for high BC AND high trauma. The Maximus® line is a hybrid between CEB’s high BC MTH (Match/Tactical/Hunting)® line and their high trauma Raptor™ line, filling in the missing piece of the CEB product line offering.

The Maximus® is also designed to be more destructive and have deeper penetration than the Raptor series. After 4-6” of penetration, 4-8 blades break off and create one large, massive wound channel. The number of blades shed is dependent upon velocity. Eight blades will break off at impact velocities over 2400fps, and below that, 4 larger blades will break off down to 1400fps.

They feature a sleek, smooth profile and feature our unique SealTite® Band. This patented technology is a band slightly larger than caliber diameter around the body of the bullet which creates a complete seal as the bullet exits the case and maintains that seal until it exits the barrel. This in turn increases accuracy by eliminating gas blow-by and decreasing copper fouling.

The Maximus® line has also been designed to be heavier than the Raptor series making them more appealing to traditional, lead core bullet users.

It took me a while to overcome tip-sticking issues in my micrometer seating die, but I finally was able to precisely load hunting rounds for my 340 Weatherby Accumark with help Forster staff.

So far, my favorite load is 83.5gr MRP loaded into a case and trimmed to 2.8100", Federal 215M primer, and seated with the gas ring neatly in the case mouth bevel for a COAL of 3.700". This is a slightly compressed load. These fit in my magazine, and produces groups of .6MOA. Over 500 yards is when the bullet comes into its own, easily shooting MOA out to 800 yards off a forearm bag. Truly a bullet I have long-range confidence in.

I've loaded them up to 85gr of MRP, but with no velocity benefits for hunting. Accuracy did not suffer, but my shoulder did, LOL! I have yet to load them with IMR7828SSC, which is another powder favorable to my particular gun.

This year will be the first elk outing with the Maximus, and I hope I get to observe terminal performance too!
